Oh how I LOVE MUSEUMS!

Hi everyone happy THIRSTY THURSDAY! I would like to share with all of you one of the things that I love about Los Angeles which is our museums! There's something special about spending the afternoon looking at art and historical pieces that have left a major impression on our society. I feel kind of privileged when I get to gaze in wonder at a Monet Painting or be in the presence of beautiful hand crafted pieces that were made for the royal family. My two favorite museums in LA are The Getty (Santa Monica) and the LACMA. Below are some pictures I've taken during my trips to the Getty and the LACMA. Sit back and enjoy. :)

The Getty:
Gorgeous pieces made for Kings & Queens. Sorry folks you can't find these pieces on ebay.

Compound Microscope & Case - Paris around 1751

I love how I was able to capture all three magnificent statues in one shot. Yes!

I was having a Beauty and the Best moment.

This is my all time favorite photo I have ever taken. I used a Canon Power Shot with a macro zoom. I would not call myself a professional photographer... not by a long shot but I think I did a pretty good job with this one. This was taken in the Getty Garden.

Another picture taken in the Getty Garden. Why hello there bumble bees!

LACMA: Los Angeles County Museum of Art
So much going on here. Madness and beauty. My head is spinning. Whoa!

I will have one of each thanks.

Please don't fall! Oh, Oh, Oh boy! Please don't ........

For some reason this reminds me of the movie Insidious.

I'm gonna make a change for once in my life. It's gonna feel real good, gonna make a difference.. oh hey, there! Sorry I was having a M.J. moment Jam on!

Liebster Blog

My friend Ashley from Any Lovely Thing sent me a Liebster award! Whoa Mama that's sweet! Wait.... what is that? Miss Ashley did her research and from her Yoda like brain she has informed me that Liebster is a German word for "favorite" and this award is meant to recognize your favorite blogs that have less than 200 followers.

I was pretty flattered especially since I have not spent much time on my blog until probably around a couple weeks ago. I am taking my time with my blog to make sure that it is going in the right direction and is depicting who I am in the best light.  So for one of my dearest friends to send me an award is like getting an unexpected hug from someone you weren't planning on seeing that day. Thanks Miss Ashley! I Lovett! :)

When you receive the Liebster award, you are supposed to do the following:
  • Post the award on your blog
  • Show your thanks to the blogger who gave you the award (by linking back to her/him)
  • Choose five up-and-coming blogs, that have less than 200 followers
  • List those five blogs you gave the award to, with links to their sites, and make sure they know that they were nominated (so that they can continue spreading the award), via commenting on their blog, Facebook or Twitter
My Liebster Blog award winners are...

I didn't select Ashley for this award just because she selected me. I truly adore Ashley's blog and she is the one who got me into blogging in the first place. I love when Ashley posts about events that she hosts at her wonderful home even the ones that I am not able to attend. Ashley is becoming a pretty fantastic photographer and it shows from her post about her trip to London her and her boyfriend  recently took.  Ashley also posts a lot of great recipes and is a vision in front of the camera. Her posts about the outfits she picks out for work makes me want to stop sleeping in as much as I do every morning and actually put myself together!

deliciously yours: http://deliciouslyyourslo.blogspot.com/

I am a fan of Laura from deliciously yours. She has the cutest style. She wears a lot of vintage and vintage inspired pieces. I love how with every outfit she posts you just know that she feels comfortable in it and truly is something that she would rock in her day to day life. Kudos to you Laura you have funtastic style you vintage queen!

Draw me closer to Where you are: http://elliekyungran.blogspot.com/

Ellie is a student studying in London. She posts about projects she is working on. The way Ellie posts is unique. She will have an image or a video and below it she will describe the post in a form of a poem. She will also provide a quote from the bible to better depict the message she is trying to get across. She's very vague when describing who she is I imagine she lets the image and her writing be her voice. She's very intriguing and a bit of a wonder.

Well... that's it!

I know, I know that's not five blogs but here's the thing. I am still fairly new to blogging and a lot of the blogs I normally follow have more than 200 followers. Instead of being disingenuous and searching for blogs out of desperation and pretending that I follow them I figured I give a shot out to blogs that I do follow and enjoy. So that's my pick three winners for my Liebster blog award list!

Better than Bisquick!

Good Morning! Happy Hump Day! This weekend I made homemade pancakes for the first time and I'm not going to lie they were stinking delicious!

Every weekend my boyfriend always makes me breakfast. Scrambled eggs, bacon and toast is the name of the game! I figured since he has been so good to me I might as well award him for being such a great guy. I decided to make him homemade pancakes and boy did he enjoy them.

Ingredients: (from left) one cup flour, one tablespoon sugar, 3 tablespoons melted butter, one tablespoon milk (optional), mint leaves (for decor), one cup buttermilk, one egg, blueberries, dash of salt, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda and of course syrup!

What breakfast is complete with out a cup of Jo? The answer is.... no breakfast! Boom!I love my coffee mugs you can pick these adorable mugs up at World Market.

So delicious! The recipe I provided makes about 4 pancakes per batch when using a 1/2 cup measuring cup. I made two batches one with milk and one without. The batch without adding milk was thicker and tastier. My recommendation is to make these pancakes without adding the tablespoon of milk. Both are yumtastic just one is a bit more delicious than the other.
